Dromore Race Celebrates 10 Years in 2018

The Dromore Road Race in Co. Tyrone are celebrating 10 years of the cross- community event on Saturday 23rd June (12 noon). The successful fixture comprising of a 10K, 5K and 5K walk has gone from strength to strength and has welcomed thousands of participants over the last nine years.

McDermott’s Pharmacy have returned as title sponsors, supporting the event for the last 8 years while the charity partner is Aware NI, official depression charity in the province.

2017 Dromore 10K & 5K Road Race Launched

The annual Dromore Road Race is now a firm fixture in the June road racing calendar and the ninth edition takes place on Saturday 24th June (12 noon) with a 10K, 5K and 5K walk all on offer.

The event has retained its long running sponsor, McDermott’s Pharmacy, Main Street Dromore and the committee are urging all local runners to get their online entries in before the closing date of June 16th. Dromore Road Race Raises £1000 for Charity

The Dromore Road Race raised £1000 from their 10K and 5K event last June 2013 and proceeds went to Marie Curie which was the nominated charity of title sponsor McDermott's Pharmacy.  Many thanks to Bernard Maguire for his continued support of the community event.

Great support for Dromore Road Race in its fifth year

There was plenty for Omagh Harriers to celebrate after this year’s Dromore 10K and 5K Run/Walk, with runners from the local club clinching top spot in both the men’s and women’s races on Saturday afternoon. Overall there is always great support, especially from residents of the town who compete in one of the three events on offer- the 10K, 5K run or 5K Walk.

Blog 4: Race Week is here!

As we enter our final week before the race, at this stage you should have tapered your training and are in the final stages of your preparation. Physically I'm hoping you have the hard yards done, and we should now be spending this week on the mental preparation needed to get through the race.

Final Call to Enter Road Race and to 'Line the Streets'

Members of the Dromore Road Race organising committee Liam McQuaid, Clare McCoy and Dermot Montague (missing David Graham) are urging people to ‘Line the Streets’ ahead of the Olympic Torch Relay coming through the town on Tuesday 5th June at 10.52am.

The Dromore 10k Run and 5k Run/Walk will take place on Saturday 9thJune following the phenomenal success of previous years. 2012 will be a special occasion as it will be part of a week of celebration as the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relaycomes through the town on Tuesday 5th June. NI Olympic torch relay to come through Dromore

The locations have been announced for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay route through Northern Ireland.

The flame arrives in Belfast on 3 June 2012 with relay runners carrying it to more than 60 towns and villages as well as a number of beauty spots.

Torch-bearers will carry the flame over the famous Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and it will also cross Lough Neagh and the River Bann.
